Visitor Visas

The Visitor visa (subclass 600) is used by foreign nationals to travel to Australia for tourism or business visitor purposes.

Visitor Visas

The Australian Visitor Visa program allows individuals to visit Australia for tourism, business, or family visits for short stays, typically up to 3, 6, or 12 months, depending on the visa subclass. Key streams include:

  • Tourist Stream (subclass 600): For individuals traveling for leisure or to visit family.
  • Business Visitor Stream (subclass 600): For short-term business activities, such as attending meetings or conferences.
  • Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) (subclass 601): For eligible passport holders traveling for tourism or business purposes.
  • eVisitor Visa (subclass 651): For citizens of the European Union and certain other countries traveling for tourism or business.

Applicants must meet the Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) requirement, which assesses their intention to visit Australia temporarily and not settle permanently, considering their circumstances, travel history, and ties to their home country
